This is my first book review on my blog. Apologies to all the acclaimed people who have been reviewing books since long for not standing up to the true expectations from a book review. So here I go.
Book Title:Did She Love Me?
Author: Jyotirmoy Mazumdar
Publisher:Diamond Books
Price:Rs.100(Available at a lower price online)

About the book:

Jayrish, fondly called as Jay by his friends doesn’t want to enjoy the luxuries bestowed to him by his father. Instead he wants to make it to the IIT and work for ISRO. After a few revolts and quarrels, he arrives at Delhi with big dreams in his eyes and a goal to achieve. He is very clear about his ambition but then enters Shweta and Jay is completely swayed away by her looks and sweet gestures. His friends, Ritwik and Anisha warn him that it is futile to fall for girl who is already in a relationship but Jay can’t help it. The love bug had already bit him hard. What happens after this is a roller coaster ride as Shweta keeps coming in and going out of his life. Will Jay get his love? Or will he also come into the list of hundreds of love lorn heart broken people? Will Shweta ever understand his true worth? This is for you to find out.

What the book says:

Do you think Career is the most important thing of everyone’s life?

Do you think love has boundaries and restrictions?
Would you go on to an unknown place for someone you hardly know?
Do you think you can chase your dreams and your love together?
Can love make you forget things you thought were the most important in your life?

Yes, Love can change your life. In today’s modern world, Yes: You can forget your dreams and fall in love.
He is a guy who wants to go beyond his limits to crack IIT, away from his parents away from the world. But he falls in love. Can his friends save his ship from sinking or has it already sunk? Can he achieve his dreams or does love become his new goal?

About the author:

Jyotirmoy Mazumdar is a first year student of B.Tech from SRM University, New Delhi and this is his debut novel. He is basically from Guwahati and is blessed with a writer Mom. I guess the writing habit comes from genes. According to him , he is a writer by accident. Circumstances turned him to a writer for good and he wishes to pursue a writing career in future as well. In fact he is already towards the completion of his second novel. Budding authors do have a new inspiration πŸ™‚

My Opinion:

I read the book in one go. So that itself means it keeps your interest till the end. The book does have a common theme of boy loves girl and girl loves someone else but it has got the power to keep you engrossed till the end. The book truly portrays the agonies Jay goes through while Shweta plays with his life by coming in and going out of his life repeatedly. Jay is a true lover and is depicted as an epitome of selfless love and a modern time Romeo. He can go to any limits to make his girl smile, even if that means going all the way to Jaipur and sleeping at a bus stop. He sacrifices all his dreams for his love only to get nothing in return, not even a proper response from her side. She does acknowledge his caring and affectionate ways but is confused to hell. She wants her ex and Jay too. Her frivolous actions almost take Jay’s life but then life always brings a lesson along with it.
The only drawback of the book is that it hasn’t been edited properly due to which you might get to see a few grammatical errors but they are mostly forgotten due to the pace of the book. The book has a wonderful prologue and marvellous poetry compositions which are truly heart touching. I guess many of the youngsters can easily relate to the book and this novel clearly justifies itself in giving a thought to everybody that is giving your total dedication and commitment actually worth it. Overall a good read, keep up the good work Mr.Jyotirmoy Mazumdar πŸ™‚
My Rating: Though I am just another minor person on Earth, it wouldn’t be nice of me to rate the book as I haven’t achieved half of what he has achieved at such a young age. But then a review wants a rating, I would give it a 3.5/5(spare me if you find the rating more or less and 0.5 has been deducted for bad editing).
Do purchase the book, it has a refreshing story line filled with sweet moments of love.

Now a question as to what is a book review doing on my blog? This blog is all about relationships and it is an apt story of today’s times’ ritual of break up and patch. And so it needs a mention on my blog where I have been constantly trying to reach out to the masses wanting to make them realize that there is no point ruining a life for selfish reasons. If you are in love, spread it and share it, do not insult the purest feeling present on this planet. Love truly and selflessly, for it comes just once and if it goes away, it never comes back in its true form.

its so difficult to review a book, no??? one doesn't really understand if the entire plot should be put or how it should be put so that its tempting but doesn't reveal everything coz then there is no point in buying the book!!!
