The Phone Call

She had been sitting with friends and enjoying after a long time. They talked and they laughed. They just laughed for no reason and then began the ritual of singing songs or rather ruining the music of songs which was very common in their group of friends. With that began the talks about the olden times when they had just met and how they used to enjoy together.
And then suddenly they had a conversation on the songs she used to sing during that time. Alas! But no one could remember that one song she sang almost everyday. She herself forget. They tried but everybody gave up on their memory. She sung the song for it reminded her of him during those days but now it was over and she had moved on.
Sometimes you feel so irritated of yourself when you are unable to recollect something at the right time. And this frustration makes you do stupid things. She called him instantly just to ask him about the song if he remembered. But as soon as he picked up her friend could finally recall the song.
“Hello”, he said.
She had heard his voice after a long time.
“Who is this?”, she lied.
“Nishant”
“Ohh…I am sorry. I just called in to check out the owner of this number as it was in my phonebook without a name.”, she lied again. She couldn’t tell him the reason of her call. It would sound awkward and they had finally recalled the song so there was no point telling him about the same.
“Prachi? Is that you?”
“Yes. But please don’t call.”
“Okay, I won’t.”
“I have to go now. Bye”
“Bye!”

Isn’t it amazing how relations change once upon a time he was an integral part of her life and now they didn’t even talk properly? Friendship had turned into love and sadly the love had gone sour. It had overpowered their friendship too. They were best friends some years back and now they were nothing more than strangers. That’s life, peculiar in its own way

P.S: Sorry for the delay readers but the second part of ‘Silence says it all’ will come soon.

I think that's the difference between 'best friend become boyfriend' and 'boyfriend become best friend'… I like the way that girl lied to that guy.. so cute :))

Life is all about changing. No matter they are good or bad. If those changes are made by us, then certainly they have something hidden good for us, we sometimes don't care for others. Nice short story. Thanks.
